143 612 runs on both Engines for the first time in preservation

The engine of DMS Car 55653 of Pacer set 143 612 was successfully run today. This means both engines of 143 612 are now operational for the first time since the unit entered preservation in late 2020. This has been achieved thanks to the efforts of the small team of volunteers forming the Vale of Berkeley Railway Pacer support group.

The work involved some creative use of jump leads as well as getting to grips with a steep learning curve on Pacer Electrical and mechanical systems

The team are pictured looking suitably pleased with the day's efforts.
