Our focus is on the Sharpness branch line in Gloucestershire, built by the Severn & Wye Railway and later jointly operated by the GWR & LMS companies. Part of the branch is still used by Network Rail for freight traffic.

The initial base for the Vale of Berkeley Railway was in the Old Engine House by the docks, where we established an engineering facility to restore heritage locomotives, rolling stock and other items from a bygone era. Having obtained a lease from Network Rail for the the original Sharpness freight sidings site, we also started developing it as the next as the next stage of our long-term plan to  operate heritage trains towards Berkeley.
