Ruston 88DS

This Ruston 88DS diesel shunter is similar to the locos that operated on the Sharpness New Dock lines . Our locomotive was built in 1941 for the Air Ministry and ended its working life at Bath Gas Works. We acquired the locomotive from the Somerset and Dorset Trust at Washford, who had already carried out much restoration work. With further input from our volunteers it's now in running condition and will be a useful addition to our fleet.
