LMS 4F 0-6-0 No. 4027
Undergoing restoration
The 4F locomotives were built initially by the Midland Railway and later by the LMS. 4027 was the first LMS built of the class and is part of the National Collection. It worked until 1964 when it was preserved. 4027 was initially restored to steam for the Rainhill 150 celebrations in 1980 and spent time at the Midland Railway Centre at Butterley and the Gloucester and Warwickshire Steam Railway. The locomotive is owned by the National Railway Museum and is in the care of one of our Trustees.
